To me a bubble bath, silence and a glass of wine is the perfect recipe for a better mood. A holiday is just as therapeutic. Regenerating, replenishing and restoring the body, mind and spirit.
For a lot of us, money and the pace of life doesn’t allow frequent holidays despite our constant need for the peace. To answer this frustrating truth in life my family and I tried an experiment. We took a family vacation at home. In our front yard to be more specific.
The weather was perfect, the company so perfect and the setting made for the perfect outing. We set up our three man tent and pitched an afternoon of bliss. We took a picnic, bedding, reading material and a playgym and the three of us made a memory. From inside the tent we looked far from home, the crumpling of tent sounded like a holiday, the sun made it feel like a holiday and the company in a different environment performed the therapeutic results of a true getaway.
After the camping afternoon I felt rested, relaxed and contented. (to be honest a tiny bit embarrased as neighbours looked on, but hey, adults can imagine too!!) It cost nothing, it involved no driving and it was the answer to a stressful week.
As childish and simple as it sounds, try it and leave a comment on this blog as to how your ‘home getaway’ went. Enjoy.xx

Just checkng that this is working
My darling daughter, I remember camping nights when you and your sister were younger. Friday nights would roll around, the fire would be going, we would have our fish and chips and we would go camping by the fire. We would have the luxury of watching TV and not have to worry about getting wet from the rain outside. We would turn the lights off and it would be dark apart from the glow of the fire and the images of the TV. It cost only the price of the fish and chips to make a memory like that priceless. Lub ewe. x
